Jane and Maddy decided they needed a map and set about creating one.
It goes from that house to our house…and where we are.
This is our house, the purple one, that’s for our neighbors. Brown is for the deadly monster. Blue is for ocean.
That’s why we have am map, so we can go that way to a safer place.
The map goes in a place so the deadly monsters can’t find it. It also has our power.
Jane and Maddy’s play around staying safe evolved to introduce the theme of good vs evil, the deadly monsters and power. The map gives them power. Is this power from the knowledge of where the monster is – or another kind of ‘superhero’ like power? We don’t know, but Jane and Maddy feel confident as they fold the map and put it away in a safe place.
