Welcome to the neighborhood of Lincoln Nursery School!

Last year LNS faculty responded to Covid while maintaining our core values. Through the efforts of our community, we were open all year. We learned a lot – adapting our work to be primarily outside; slowing down our pace to support the anxiety brought about by the pandemic; and, with the temporary absence of family helpers in the classroom, we gained a new appreciation for our community. We are excited for the 2021-22 school year, and look forward to having family members back in the classroom this fall.

Families from a dozen towns travel to LNS, at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. Children’s ages range from two years, nine months to six years old.

For seventy-five years, LNS, a Reggio-inspired partnership of teachers, family members and children, has created a meaningful and reflective school, establishing a foundation for lifelong learning. Our location at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum broadens our experiences and sense of community.

Mission Statement

Lincoln Nursery School is a cooperative partnership among our citizens – children, teachers, and families, as well as our broader community.  We value open communication and mutual respect, are committed to social justice, and foster a culture of collaboration to encourage every child to take action in a connected world. Learning through play and inquiry, listening and dialog, we generate a multiplicity of relationships.  These connections broaden our sense of place and open the world from “me” to “we.”

“What we practice we become.”  –Tara Brach
