Dear Studio Blue,
You were so busy this week! Here are a few of the many things we noticed.

Caring for Joe

Joe, when you felt sad when dad left, other children tried to help you feel better!

Jemima, you thought it would help Joe to have his bird and you brought him his bird many times. Each time you offered his bird, you smiled at Joe as you handed it to him.

Here’s what you did, Alice.

Joe certainly was happy to see
you being so giggly and fun!

William, you ran over for your clipboard and quickly drew this. Who is it? Mark asked.
It’s Joe’s dad, you answered, and you brought it over to show Joe.

Music Making

Will, when Mark joined you in playing "Hello Goodbye" (the Beatles), Ferdinand and Kairan set up chairs and started playing drums on the plexiglass cube with wooden spoons. Recalling that using spoons for drumsticks wasn't such a good idea, we offered mallets, and soon they were bringing chairs over for others, and the concert continued in earnest. We played Jingle Bells, Ella and Jackie on the Motorway (a song that came from Jemima and Studio Blue), I've Been Working on the Railroad, We All Need More Kindness In This World, and others.
Ferdinand showed us the "time out" sign, and we used this when we needed to stop making music and listen to what someone had to say. At one point, Arlo, you took pictures with your "camera" and Joe, you liked Arlo's idea. Dax, you headed over to the bowls to play accompaniment there, too.

A Mystery Cooking Project

Dax, Kairan and Cassie – you came out to the playground and were very busy cooking, but we don't know exactly what you were making. What could it have been?

Other Tidbits

Llewyn, Augie and Camden, we know that this started as a post office. Is that what you're playing here? What were you writing down?

Arlo, the other day you built a structure that had a cage with a "furious bear" inside, while Will was building beside you (not shown). The next day, Will, you showed Arlo your structure with a cage with a bear inside, too! You also showed Arlo how you copied the picture of blocks on the window.

And when anyone is feeling ill, there is always a doctor in the house. William, you and your friends remembered the blood pressure cuff that Doctor Emily had shown us. You used it on Dax, and told us that he was healthy.

Fondly,
Mark and Diane
