Hide and Seek

Many children are playing hide and seek games, and we end up having a discussion about it during Tuesday’s meeting.

When Travers notices the tall red drum on the high shelf, he comments that it would be a good hiding place, because you could look out the holes in the bottom.

And you were a hiding tiger today, and Cal and Kaya and others. Were you guys animals hiding, or were you other things hiding?

Travers Tigers go in a cage and they say grrr.

Where do they go when they hide?

Travers In their cage.

Kyla How I hide, when I run off and hide someplace else and I hide in a bathroom or I hide in a door. Actually I hide in my bed. She explains that she can’t hide under her bed because My bed is short.

Do you play hide and seek at home, Thomas?

Thomas Yeah, when we count and we come out and… then Matthew finds Mommy, and I find her too.

Asha So at my home I hide behind my mommy and I sneak under my dad.

Ruthie I hide with my momma.

Cal I count at home too.

Does anyone else play hide and seek at home?

Will I do.

Sam I do sometimes.

Do you play hide and seek, Saige?

Saige I just play hide and seek at Mimi’s.

Kyla I hide behind curtains.

Hide and Seek combines holes with the need to find a spot of one’s own. No wonder it’s a popular game.
