Helping our Feathered Friends!

Studio Purple spent a lot of time enjoying watching the birds from our studio window.  Do you remember all the birds you saw Studio Purple?  Now is a great time to watch birds as they are getting really busy finding materials to make a soft, cozy nest.

Today’s invitation is to make a “nesting box” or “ball” to hang out in your yard.  Birds like to make their nests with all kinds of materials.  It’s important that they are sturdy but it’s also very important that they are soft and warm inside.  You can find lots of materials inside your home that would make wonderful nesting materials.  If you can, venture outside and find even more materials to add to your nesting boxes or balls.  After watching the video, be sure to check out the Cornell Lab of Ornithology website for lots of great information about birds.  They even have fun webcams where you can peek in and follow bird feeding stations and nesting sites!
