What can our bodies do?

Spring brings freedom of movement! With no snow pants, heavy boots, nor mittens, children discover what their bodies are capable of as they move on this uncovered terrain. Both new and familiar tools replace those we used on ice and snow. In their movement we see them making sense of timing, speed, balance, force, weight and number. We see their questions: How do I make my feet move together? How do I make this move up? How can we be more steady?

"I just got nine!" Sophie

"You put your feet next to the knot." Ruby

"Charlotte can you help me tie a knot? I want to tie this to the fence." Alex

"Watch how fast I can go!" Marky

"Those are crutches. Nico hurt his leg. He's off to the medical!" Callen

"I love spring cleaning." Charlotte

"Now you come on here...now it's time for bed!" Helen
