We can stick leaves on the window again!

A number of weeks ago we set up a very subtle provocation for the children. An evening rain and a temperature shift had created heavy condensation on our windows and had left the leaves wet on the ground. In response, we stuck three golden birch leaves to our entrance window.

Would anyone notice this gesture? Would anyone try to replicate our work?

The leaves actually stick to each other, did you know that? VIOLET

If you put it this way… I notice for me, they only stick if they’re upside down.(right side facing the window) [Otherwise] the stem gets in the way.  VIOLET

Just the pretty ones!  The color!  AVERY

Now we have something pretty to look at inside.  Let’s go look!  VIOLET

I made a circle.  I made a circle around Charlotte.  Let’s see if we can make circles around everyone!  VIOLET.

It all started out with these three leaves here!

On Friday Violet exclaimed, “We can stick leaves on the window again!”

A single provocation can be very powerful.  It can be the discoveries made, the relationships formed, the beauty created or a special feeling experienced, that prompt us to try to recreate the moment again.
