The original Sandy Offenheim & Family version (on their “nicknames” CD) names the “Barnball Farm” (instead of Great Brook Farm) and is a simple call and response, and it’s called . I learned it from Tom Hunter at a workshop of his. I decided to change the response to motions and sound effects, and I sing “Great Brook Farm” because it’s a farm a lot of families go to in my area.
I love whispering, almost not speaking, “And the thunder and the lightning” and then making a loud BOOM! CRASH! after it.
