Work created during Stay and Play is often taken home at the end of the day. It may be folded and placed in backpacks but that creates creases. Rolling the papers and placing in boots is one creative solution we have seen, and rolling and holding with tape is another popular solution.
Recently Ada identified a problem with tape and asked for a rubber band.
Why do you not want to use tape?
‘Cos I didn’t want to rip the paper!
Ada went ahead and wrapped the paper with the rubber band. Henry was close by and asked for his own band. He tried to wrap the paper but putting the rubber band around the paper only once meant it unrolled. He tried again but it was proving difficult to hold the paper and figure out the trick to making the rubber band tight enough to hold the paper in a roll.
Ada noticed Henry working on the problem and offered to show him her technique, she then walked him through the steps as he did it himself.
If you want to put on a rubber band put it on one and twist it around and then you do it again and that’s it!
Ada joyfully shared her knowledge, and Henry willingly accepted her help, learning a new skill from his friend.
