Sailing Ship

There is a pirate version of this that I do as well, but if pirates aren’t of interest in the classroom I use this.

When I was one I had some fun    hold up one finger and march in place
On the day I went to sea.
I jumped aboard a sailing ship,      jump!
And the sailor said to me:               shade eyes with hand
We go this way, that way,               lean side to side, stretching with the opposite arm
Forward, backward,                          touch toes, then lean back
Over the deep blue sea!”                make wavy motion with hands

next verses:
When I was two I tied my shoe         hold up two fingers and then
lift foot and slap it with opposite hand
When I was three I climbed a tree    hold up three fingers and then
pretend to climb a tree
