By Mark Weltner; melody partly borrowed from Anna Moo’s “Rainbow Day”
There’s something stuck between my teeth,
A little yellow banana piece.
B-A-N-A-N-A, I eat bananas every day.
On the train, clickety clack, do wheels on the bus motion with hands
on the bus, move on back, point behind you with your thumb
On a bike, ka-ching, ka-ching, pretend you’re pressing a bicycle bell with your thumb
or upside down on a jungle gym turn your body upside down and say “hoo hoo ha ha hee hee hee” like an ape!
I see a banana and it drives me mad,
I’m a banana fan, just like my dad
I dream of superheroes with banana peel capes,
Maybe it’s because I’m an ape!
