Draw the Circle Wide
You Gotta Sing When the Spirit Says Sing – they had started out the morning on the rug creating a symmetrical pattern with Kapla blocks, and I was inspired to have the children pair up and make tapping and clapping patterns where one child mirrored the other child, and then we switched so that the leader became the follower. It went really well!
We also did a quick “slap the mosquito” movement where we passed a clap around the circle, and then did it again but saying the next person’s name when we clapped.
No More Pie
We did the “music reading” again, where I drew letters across a long sheet of paper, making them get bigger and smaller, and going up and down, and we read/sang them. We made BOO HOO (and HOO BOO) and BOO BOO and BOOM and TOO.
We did Frosty the Snowman again – so many children know all the words (below)!
