“They’re chrysalises!”

A provocation of a large cut tree limb, clay, bark and sticks was presented to the children. We are often surprised and delighted by what evolves with these simple, yet thoughtful invitations.

On this day Birdie created a powerful memory of a project well past. "They're chrysalises!" We are reminded of the power of the way we work, of a project evolving over time and of the magic of a child's desire to understand the natural world,
of a respect for the time it takes to make meaning and how this meaning is constantly shifting and warping as further connections are made.

We thank Birdie for reminding us that learning and projects are never finished, rather are seen through a new lens with new perspective.
