Studio Red: week 31

Dear Studio Red,

We continue to miss all of you and we continue to marvel at all of learning that is happening while you are at home!

MEMORIES FROM A WEEK AT HOME

IDEAS FROM GROWN-UPS

Alex noticed how Louis is naming the numbers he sees as he rides his bike past houses.  This is math!  Embracing opportunities to have conversations about numbers is what learning and teaching looks like.  If we listen, children tell us what they are figuring out.

Miles was invited to help clear brush from a fallen tree.  As you offer your child ways to help, you are teaching!  They learn what it means to work as a group, to overcome frustrations, to organize their ideas and actions.

The latest conversation with Audrey Duck!

We notice how parents are listening to their children—responding to their language and actions—as they choose to invite their children to participate in video gatherings.  Opting out is important.  Practicing something that is uncomfortable can also be valuable.  You are all navigating these choices beautifully.
