Studio Red: daily do & draw 5/4

Watch below for a brief hello from Emily—also an invitation to listen to the birds.

Dear Studio Red,

The other day Lauri was on a walk and she wrote Emily a message to tell her about all the dandelions she noticed along her path!  This made Emily notice them at her home too!  Today, we invite you to go on a search for these yellow beauties!

Love, Lauri and Emily

DO

Where are you, beautiful dandelions?

Would you like to search for dandelions?  Have you learned to identify them?  How would you describe their size, shape, texture, and color?  Can you name  their parts?  Once you find some, you may have your own ideas for play.  For some more inspiration, visit the DRAW invitation below!

DRAW

How can you make marks with a dandelion?

How might you use the petals?

There is more than one way to draw with a dandelion.  As you play, you may invent some new methods for making marks!  Below we share a few ideas.

Adding dandelions together, you can make lines!  Linking them together, dandelions become a chain!  What might you draw?  What might you create?

Experiment with dandelion sap!  Draw with the stem  on a piece of paper and let it dry in the sun or on a radiator.  (We heard it can work like invisible ink).
