Eggs!

This week we're thinking about eggs. Usually we think about birds laying eggs. BUT - you may have seen on our blog that Kairan's family found frog eggs and brought them home to hatch them. When frog eggs hatch, tadpoles come out. Here they are before they hatched. Do you see the tadpoles inside them?

Here are pictures of tadpole eggs, a tadpole, and the frog it finally grows up into.

So... we're thinking of making eggs this week. Drawing them, coloring them in – do you want speckled eggs? Striped eggs? Do you want to draw those clear eggs so you can draw who's inside (like the tadpoles)? Maybe making them out of playdoh or clay? Or do you want to pretend you are in an egg, and hatch to become something? What would you become?

So many different kinds of eggs we could make!

Here is a book called
Seek and Count. On the first page, there is a picture of one egg. The egg is about to hatch. What do you think is coming out of the egg?
