Newsletter, Sept. 4-5

A letter to Studio Blue:
It was so much fun playing with you this week. Here are some of the things that we noticed.

Sept 4th, first group

Many of you played with your birds!

Will, you love your bird so much! You came into the classroom and started building a home for it.

William, you saw Will making a home and you wanted to make one, too. You had a bed for your bird, just like Will, and you added a dresser, too.

Kairan, you saw Will and William and started building a home for your bird (named Max), too!

Alice and Dax and Arlo, you wanted to play with the birds in the sand table, and that was okay. Alice and Dax, you covered your birds with sand. Arlo, your bird also wanted to look inside the pipe. I wonder what it saw in there?

Vivian, you had something else you wanted to take care of – babies! You worked hard to undress many babies, and then worked on dressing them, too. You also liked playing the colored cube game – and your card said to play Peek-a-boo! When Will made a “game” for his bird, your bird wanted to fly across it and play the game, too.

At the end of the day you saw Will drawing his bird and you did a drawing of your own. We wonder what you were thinking about when you did that drawing…

Sept 5th, second group

Ferdinand, you looked out the window and saw the construction outside Studio Blue. Mark told you that workers used it when they were putting on a new roof.

Augie and Camden, when you were inside, you noticed the windows up high. Camden, I think you knew that the construction workers put in new windows, too. Here’s what you said today about the windows:

That very high. Windows. Them high. Where’d them guys (construction workers) go?

Augie, when you and Camden were looking at the windows, way up high, you said:

It light out. Right there. Lights. Lights. Windows. Right there.

Cassie, when we went to the playground, you joined Ferdinand, Camden, Augie, and Jemima doing construction. You had a conversation with some of them as you all worked moving heavy bricks:

Cassie There’s a broken car.

Ferdinand Construction.

Camden Not ready yet.

Ferdinand Two more.

Llewyn, you were busy in the sandbox for awhile. You brought a wheel over from the sandbox and put it in the car. Other children tried to fix the broken wheel and put it back onto the car.

When you fell down, Cassie, Camden said, You’re okay, Cassie, and you got up and kept playing.

Ferdinand Two more, three more, we’re not ready yet.

Camden pulled his wagon and said, Let’s go.

Cassie Where are you going? …construction

Jemima Construction!

We all went to take a look at the construction outside our classroom, then we spotted the silver car. Do you remember what the rule is about the silver car?

We visited the musical fence, then we found the tents. Jemima, you love to run back and forth between them, sometimes screaming happily! Augie, you loved to look up high, just like you were looking up at the windows in the classroom. Someone said it was an elevator up there.

Llewyn, when we went to visit this sculpture, you found out that we touch it gently, like a person – then you found lots of holes in it!
